Before completion of the gardens, the Sewell ancestral cottage was converted
into the Blue Bonnet Tea Room. The Tea Room was a delightful restaurant
setting with a relaxed environment and exceptional food. This was a setting
where local and Atlanta diners and visitors could mingle with the performers
training at the gardens. Walt Disney and his brother Roy dined here on
occasion as they loved the cooking of Ms. Inez Smith. There was a vista looking
out across the stone terraced lawns from the tearoom's doorway. The restaurant
had a dining porch overlooking the gardens.
